Can I bring my own dog?

...As long as your dog is used to being around other dogs and people, they are welcome. If you have a dog that is temperamental around other dogs, please use your best judgment. He or she may be a sweetheart, but sometimes they just don't like the presence of other dogs and feel threatened of losing your affection because of it. It is just dog behavior. We don't want something like that to ruin the hunt for everyone in the party. Please respect others in that manner.

Your guide will always have his dog with him. If you have a young dog, and want it to get some work in, we are happy to arrange those opportunities.

What will the weather be like?

Kansas weather is unpredictable. Be prepared for everything, cold, heat, snow, rain, wind, ice, etc.... Bright beautiful days and cloud changing-weather days - beautiful in their own way.  Locals often say that if you don't like the weather in here, just wait a minute.

Have a Question Ask Us!

When is the best time to go hunting
or fishing?

Anytime is a good time! :-)  Other than what the "most likely" weather would be, there really isn't a "best" time. Different species of fish are most active at certain times of the year. When you come, we fish for what is biting. If you want a specific species, if a date is open during that time, then you should try to book that date.

Who will I hunt/fish with?

Whoever comes with you is who you will spend your time with. Your group will have their own lodge and your own boat/and or guide(s). We want you to enjoy your time, and won't take a chance of having personality clashes by mixing hunting or fishing parties together. Besides, people don't like to hunt with people they don't know. There is a safety concern there as well.
